JERSEY - BDO, GREENLIGHT AND SATOR TO JOIN FORCES

13 October 2016

BDO Jersey, Greenlight and Sator Regulatory Consulting today announce that they have joined forces to form a leading integrated professional services firm spanning audit, tax, outsourcing, financial regulatory advisory and change consulting.

The transaction brings together extensive expertise within all three businesses and will immediately augment the capabilities and current range of services offered by BDO Jersey, in response to market developments and in particular in regulation, technology and the global tax landscape, which is driving rapid business change.

The core focus of the expanded BDO firm remains to deliver an exceptional client service by assisting clients to manage risk, and to compete and grow strongly on a global basis.

Matthew Corbin, CEO of BDO in Jersey, said: “BDO Jersey, Greenlight and Sator are each specialists in their own field, working for an entrepreneurial and ambitious client base that benefits from an integrated service approach. This transaction further enhances our service to clients. Our focus remains toward assisting our clients to successfully navigate fast paced market change, brought about by rapid advancements in regulation and technology in particular. The BDO team in Jersey now comprises over 70 talented people working across our core service lines of audit, advisory, tax and outsourcing.”

Greenlight was founded in Jersey by its current CEO Eliot Lincoln in 2008. The independent business change specialist offers hands-on change management services to deliver business and technology change across the Channel Islands and beyond. Eliot said: “This is the right time for this type of move for us. By joining with BDO and Sator, Greenlight will become part of a talented team that can offer a wider range of services for all our clients. We will continue to offer the same change management and business transformation services we have always offered our local clients, but being part of a larger, global network will be hugely positive for diversifying and expanding our client base. These are exciting times for all of us.”

Led by Helen Hatton, Sator offers regulatory advisory services and assistance to international standard setters, regulatory authorities, financial services firms, not-for-profit organisations and non-financial businesses. The company celebrated its fifth anniversary this year and recently won Offshore & Emerging Markets Consultancy Firm of the Year 2016 at the Global Fund Awards. Helen said: “Some might say this is a ‘dream team’ for businesses in Jersey. Over the next few months we will be aligning our corporate values and our client bases. Joining the BDO family will be a significant step for Sator, allowing us to push into new areas, covering regulatory change across an even greater client base.”

BDO Jersey is a member firm of BDO International Limited. In the financial year ending 30 September 2015, the network grew by nearly 13% through organic and acquisitive growth, reporting revenues of US$7.3bn and employing over 64,000 people across 154 countries. BDO was named the 2015 ‘Network of the Year’ by the International Accounting Bulletin.

Matthew added: “We live in an ever changing world and we have to adapt, just like the clients we serve. We believe in strength in expertise and are looking forward to welcoming our colleagues from Greenlight and Sator into BDO, and working together with them to deliver the highest standards of services and the best advice and outcomes for all of our clients.”
